About Dr. Benjamin Wolsztejn
Dr. Wolsztejn was born in Samarkand, Uzbekistan. He received his Bachelor's Degree at the Instituto Alfredo Vasquez Acevedo in Montevideo, Uruguay and his Medical Degree at the Universidad de la Republica, Facultad de Medicina in Montevideo, Uruguay. He studied there under Professors Hemogenes Alvarez, pioneer in fetal monitoring, and Caldeiro Barcia.
His practice includes comprehensive modern obstetrics and advanced gynecological care for abnormal bleeding and fibroids, endometriosis and pelvic pain, infertility, loss of urine (laparotomy or laparoscopic retropubic suspension of the urethra or sling procedure) , breast pain or mass and menopause. He does diagnostic sonography, operative pelviscopy with laser and operative hysteroscopy ( including removal of fibroids and polyps and ablation of the endometrial cavity ).Dr. Wolsztejn continues on as an Adjunct Clinical Faculty Associate Professor at Stanford University Medical Center. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology and Fellow of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists. He is certified by the Accreditation Council for Gynecologic Endoscopy in Advanced Operative Laparoscopy and Advanced Operative Hysteroscopy, and is a member of the council. He is a member of the Gynecologic Laser Society and the American Society for Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology, the American Fertility Society and the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists. He is presently the chairman of the OB-Gyn department at Eden Hospital Medical Center. He is a member of the San Francisco Gynecological Society.
